Sometimes stepping away from the studio and embracing the natural landscape can produce some of the most captivating product images you can ever make. Here some of the recent takes from Kanak's 2022 Party Wear Saree Collection taken on February 18, 2022.

Kanak Pandey is an up-and-coming Bhojpuri film actress and fashion model. She hails from Gopalganj, Bihar, India and always dreamed of playing a role in movies and now is living out that dream. Acting being a natural gift, she joined an accredited acting school in Gorakhpur. After completion, she moved to the bright lights of Mumbai to work in and around the film industry. Currently, she is busy with Hindi and Bhojpuri feature films. A Hindi film "Jinx" directed by Prince and some other films are also in pipeline.
Meet 'n Greet
Meet 'n greets are so much fun! When Rahul, our lead photographer, introduced us to Kanak we know nothing more than that she would be an incredible fit for our spring collection. Little did we know, she is also an accomplished actress with substantial roles in multiple films! (Yes, we're dying to check those out.) Aside from her modeling/acting careers she's Incredibly bright, a workout nut, and a intensely passionate animal activist. We were thrilled by time we had to get to know her before and throughout the whole shoot.
The first outfit in the collection features a dyed organza base with embroidered sequins in a floral motif. Being a seasonal collection, Rahul felt it was particularly well-suited to have all the shots taken raw, in natural settings, and embrace any unforeseen external factors that may ordinarily cause us to rethink our plans. Of course, Day 1 put that strategy to the test right off the bat.
A partyly overcast day with the sun seeping through in and out made for a lengthy first run with our first day saree. Along with a persistent gust of wind, it was pretty miraculous job by Rahul, Kanak, and Nora (stylist) of getting in as many workable shots as we possibly could.
With the winds really getting out of control, our poor little lighting set struggled to stay upright. So, we made an executive decision: Outfit 2 had to be moved indoors.
The 2nd ensemble was a coffee colored variation of the first. For this shot, Rahul wanted a neutral backdrop that hinted at "spring" in a subtle way. The background was to blend with Kanak's dress and I think it came out really great! We found a cute little half-covered courtyard with the perfect simple paintings to give off the spring vibes we wanted. The owners were phenomenally gracious for lend us their space for a couple hours.
The return to the outdoors was part of the plan for this day. But where we had some sunlight day 1, we would have to go without it on this day. So, for outfit #3 we again we decided to find another setting that will blend into the outfit and the brick wall provided just that. This silk and crystal embellishments worked well of the natural light we didn't even need our studio lights for this one.
The 4th outfit required us to wait several hours for because we wanted to add at least some natural sunlight to the collection. The green banarasi silk saree was the perfect choice!
